Application Software Based on SNMP in the Teaching of Networks Management

Abstract:

Networks Management is a practical curriculum which is mainly aimed to train students to manage and maintain the networks of enterprises with Simple Network Management Protocols (SNMP). Proper experiment software is very important in this curriculum to help students understand SNMP theories and master basic network management and maintaining skills. Characters of several software of network management are discussed in this paper based on our teaching experience. It is suggested that select different software in teaching and experimenting based on their characters in order to arouse students’ interest, master basic theories and improve their skills.
