Kinematics Analysis of Non-Orthogonal 5-Axis Machine Tools

This paper deals with the kinematics analysis of non-orthogonal 5-axis machine tools. A systematic kinematics model for all the non-orthogonal 5-axis machine tools is built by improving the robotic manipulation method. And the kinematics model of a special non-orthogonal RT 5-axis machine tool is analyzed as an example and the other type of non-orthogonal 5-axis machine tools can be analyzed in the same way. In addition, a postprocessor for non-orthogonal 5-axis machine tool is developed in Visual C++ 6.0 and the result is simulated in Vericut 7.0.
