Products Information Inheritance Based on Object-Oriented Technology

Abstract:

In the process of product creative design, we advanced the conception of Product Gene (PG) as a result of the thought of genetic engineering applied to product design. In this paper, an effective PG coding method is put forward based on the actual requirement of product information inheritance. Then a Function Surfaces (FS)→Parts→Products configuration system is established based on this coding method and the Object-Oriented technology is adopted to realize product information inheritance. Finally, the paper offers an example of the design of a spurgear to prove the feasibility of our method.
