Design and Research of the Foldable Decorative Screen with Ethnic Style Based on Weft-Backed Structure

Article Preview

Abstract:

On the basis of typical weft-backed structure, a double-faced jacquard fabric with specially ethnical and cultural brocade styles on both sides is produced. This fabric is supposed to be used for some Chinese foldable decorative screen. A crucial premise is to create an integrated pattern with transparent effect by superimposing two pieces of patterns for both sides of the fabric. In this case, two layers of wefts interweaving with a mono-layer warp can achieve the double-faced effect. The product will be a type of high-graded and Chinese-featured souvenir. Some significant design elements have been considered in detail, including the fabric appearance design, the fabric technical specification design, the weave design, and so on.
