Study of Synthesis and Characteristic of Diazoresins Used in Waterless Printing Plate

Article Preview

Abstract:

Some improvements had been made to the way of synthesis of diazoresins used in waterless lithographic printing plate by adjusting pH to 7 when anion exchanging and so on. Diphenylamine-4-diazonium salts (DDS) and the corresponding resins (the polycondensation product with formaldehyde) were synthesized and their structures were identified on the basis of their spectroscopic IR and 1H-NMR. The result of the experiment indicated that the diazoresins synthesized by this way had better resolvability, especially mesitylenesulfonate diazoresine and dodecyl benzenesulfonate diozoresin. What’s more, these diazoresins were applied to imaging composition of waterless lithographic printing plate with polyvinyl butyral resin and colorizing background dye. And an ink-repellent crosslinked silicone elastomer layer was superimposed on the light-sensitive layer above. The result showed that the waterless lithographic printing plate had excellent sensitivity, developing latitude, good ink receptivity and good ink repellency in the background areas.
