Improved on the Routing Protocol of WSN for the Coal Mine Safety

Article Preview

Abstract:

Many issues are considered such as the limited energy of the mine safety monitoring system, which bring about the accidents taking place frequently. In this paper, the wireless monitoring system and protocol is re-selected and continuously improved. A reliable and energy-efficient routing protocol——SPIN-RE (SPIN-Reliable and Energy efficient) is proposed to improve the efficiency of the node energy and prolong the lifetime of the wireless sensor network. It is based on the SPIN which is the traditional routing protocol. It adds not only the energy threshold but also the memory list in the REQ message to balance the energy consumption between the single node and the whole network in the process of the data transmission. The result of the simulation shows that this protocol has a great improving in saving energy compared with the SPIN routing protocol.
