Grounding electrode selection With the shape of rake, the grounding electrode is laid underground horizontally. This type of electrode can supply zero potential, avoid interfere and reduce noise. Layout of grounding system. In operation monitoring system of Hanjiatuo Yangtze River Bridge, single-point grounding is adopted in electric cable. All the cables and equipments are installed in the spaces surrounded by metal, which are well grounding connected. The grounding system of Hanjiatuo Yangtze River Bridge is showed in Fig.5. In the figure, transverse line means grounding wire in the longitudinal direction of girder, 45 oblique lines mean grounding wires in the transverse direction of girder, and the vertical lines mean grounding wires in the tower. Grounding wires in measuring cross section A, B and C all use grounding strap, and others use grounding trunk. Fig.5 Schematic diagram of grounding system in Hanjiatuo Yangtze River Bridge Conclusions Bridge operation monitoring hardware system design has the characteristics of multidisciplinary field and strong practicality. For the sake of successful installation and normal use, comprehensive consideration should be paid attention in bridge operation system design. Therefore, electric power system and grounding system as well as sensor system and real time monitoring system should have the same recognition degree in monitoring system design. Hanjiatuo Yangtze River Bridge operation monitoring system has been installed recently, and system design should be further verification and improvement. References
