Abstract: A kinematic approach based on the framework of limit analysis is applied for stability analysis of sheet pile walls. A rotational failure mechanism is used to computer safety of factor, and the topology optimization technique is employed in the stability analysis. The analyses generally yielded good accord with the results in many aspects of the sheet pile walls behavior. The novel implementation of upper bound method with discontinuity topology optimization is reliable and useful for engineering practice and design.

Abstract: The research of Yingpan shiplock has shown that the water-saving ship lock can not only decrease ship lock consuming water, but also lower ship lock working head so as to simplify hydraulics technical problems. In this paper the relationship between the area of storage pool, steps of storage pool and water-saving efficiency was deduced detailed based on the principle of water-saving ship lock. And that the paper has analysed the general application prospect of water-saving ship lock in inland river navigation.

Abstract: In recent years, with the increase of the research about forming technology of amorphous alloys, blow molding is explored to process the amorphous shell parts and containers both at home and abroad. Jan Schroers of Yale University found that it can improve the formability of amorphous alloys greatly by adjusting the thickness of plate blank and prefabricating parison. In this article, choosing Zr44Ti11Cu10Ni10Be25 as the study object, plate blanks with variable thickness are prefabricated to optimize the uniformity of the wall thickness of tube blank molded and studies the effects of blowing pressure and material viscosity on the formability of tube blank based on DEFORM software, so as to define the reasonable process parameters, provide theoretic foundation for blow molding process optimization of bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) plate and develop the industry application fields of BMG materials.

Abstract: This paper reports the ballistic penetration behavior of 2D basalt fiber plain woven composite (2DPWC). The residual velocity vs. strike velocity curve was recorded. The dissipated energy was also calculated for each strike velocity. Furthermore, the impact damage morphologies of the tested 2DPWC coupons were given to indicate the damage modes and the mechanisms of energy absorption.

Abstract: In order to study dynamic properties of lime-treated expansive clay, a comprehensive series of laboratory tests were conducted via dynamic triaxial test system. The influences of factors such as moisture content, confining pressure, vibration frequency, consolidation ratio and the number of cycles on dynamic characteristics were discussed. It is found that the dynamic stress-strain curves of lime-treated expansive clay show the general trend of hyperbola. Compared with the remoulded expansive soil, the bearing capacity of lime improved expansive soil is higher than remolded soil.

Abstract: Abstract. This paper presents an investigation method of residual strength of Multiple Site Damage (MSD) panel. Both interaction between cracks and the effect of stable tearing are considered together. Dugdale model of collinear cracks is employed in the MSD panel model. Swift strip-yield criterion is used to judge whether the cracks linkup. Compared with the test results, numerical results of 9 different configuration MSD panels of 2024-T3 aluminum alloy are compared with the test results. The average relative error is -2.09%and root-mean-square error is 0.048. The agreement between analysis and experiment is shown to be reasonable.

Abstract: Natural short fiber reinforced composite is promising in motor industry, it is meaningful to study the tensile property of spruce short fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP) composite. In this paper, the finite element model is developed with the consideration of the fiber random orientation, random distribution, fiber volume content and interphase effect, especially the cohesive zone model to simulate the interphase property. The tensile behaviors of the short spruce/PP composite with kinds of fiber volume content are predicted. The results show that both strength or stiffness and experimental data are well identical.

Abstract: Geotechnical engineers have become increasingly aware of salt damages caused by water-salt migration. The soil water characteristic curve (SWCC) is a very important tool for determining the engineering properties of unsaturated soil. Using pressure plate extractors, This paper carried out a research on soil-water characteristics of saline soil in northwest China. Then, The relationship between matrix suction and water content was analyzed, the unsaturated hydraulic conductivity in different water content was calculated through predicting model of Van Genuchten(1980). Based on the measurement and calculation, the correlation between unsaturated hydraulic conductivity and water content was established. Research results show that unsaturated hydraulic conductivity of saline soil decreases in non-linear trend with the water content reducing, while it decline linearly by a certain specific rate with the matrix suction increasing at a high-suction section (100kpa ~ 100000kpa) in double logarithmic coordinates.
