Study of Shock Control of Gear-Shifting in Automatic Transmission

Article Preview

Abstract:

A new smooth shifting control is worked out in response to problems existed in gear-shift control of the AG4 automatic transmission, and a new pattern of oil pressure change for the engaging elements during the transition stage is formulated. Dynamic motion equations for the AG4 automatic transmission are established using simulated lever system. The simulation test is done of the 2nd-3rd (3rd-2nd) gear-shift phase in AG4 automatic transmission by means of MATLAB/Simulink software. The result of which shows the change in amplitude of the output shaft angular acceleration and that of the degree of jerk are noticeably reduced when applying the new oil pressure pattern to control the process in the AG4 automatic transmission. Therefore, the smooth shifting control is achieved by reducing the shock subjected during gear-shift, and thus the gear-shift process is greatly improved.
