Analysis of Influence Factors of Urban Spatial Form in Chengdu

Abstract:

Urban spatial form has recorded the history of city development, and also reflected the variations of urban spatial form characteristics. The thorough research and think on the influence factors of urban spatial form and pattern may help us understand the historical background of cities development and forecast the future development of urban space better. In this article, the reasons and influence factors of Chengdu, such as water system, special road system, functional lands and a whole-new model of coordinating urban-rural development, were discussed. We tried to find a way to control the out-of-order sprawl of urban development in Chengdu and promote the urban development towards a more sustainable direction.
