Emission Characteristics of Gaseous Pollutants in an On-Board Test of a Diesel Passenger Car Fueled with Biodiesel

Article Preview

Abstract:

In this paper, emission characteristics of gaseous pollutants in an on-board test are studied by using OBS-2200 system in a Passat diesel passenger car, which was fueled with country Ⅳ diesel, pure biodiesel and different blends of country Ⅳ diesel-biodiesel, the blend ratios of which were 5%,10%,20%,50%. The results indicate, compared with gaseous pollutants of highways in urban and rural areas in Shanghai, gaseous pollutants of main and secondary roads in urban areas and rural areas in Shanghai are relatively not satisfying and, compared with country Ⅳ diesel, integrated emissions of CO, CO2, THC in the whole experimental test are reduced when different ratio blends of biodiesel have been used, meanwhile the integrated emission of NOx is increasing.
