Abstract: The dispersive effect of four lignosulfonates (Kinsperse126, sodium lignosulfonate, magnesium lignosulfonate and a modified lignosulfonate GCL4-1) on the stability of Dimethomorph (DMM) water based suspension with different particle sizes was investigated. DMM suspension without dispersant was unstable owing to the strong aggregation of particles, while the stability was increased after the addition of lignosulfonate (LS), which can be adsorbed on the particle surface and weaken the aggregation of particles. Moreover, the higher sulfonated degree of LS, the better the dispersible ability was. Compared with LS of high sulfonated degree which could improve the zeta potential of DMM, LS with high molecular weight had larger adsorption capacity and steric effect on the pesticide particles. Associated with the dispersive behavior of DMM suspension, the electrostatic repulsion was found to be the more important factor impacting the stability of DMM suspension by comparison with the steric effect.

Abstract: Alkali lignin (AL) was used as a polyanion to form layer-by-layer self-assembled film with PDAC as a polycation. The effects of temperature and concentration on the adsorption characteristics of AL were investigated. Iodine was added into AL solutions to study the role of π-π interaction in self-assembly of AL and PDAC. Results show that the self-assembly of AL/PDAC is mainly driven by π-π interaction and electrostatic interaction. A higher temperature or a larger concentration can enhance the aggregation of lignin. I2 can form lignin–iodine charge–transfer complexes with AL to reduce the degree of aggregation of AL, so the adsorbed amount of AL decreases significantly with increasing iodine contents.

Abstract: Solubility of stearic acid in ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol,l-butanol, acetone, methylene chloride, ethyl acetate and 95% ethanol was experimentally determined by the synthetic method from (293 to 315)K. The laser monitoring observation technique was used to determine the disappearance of the solid phase in a solid + liquid mixture. The solubility of stearic acid in methylene chloride was found to be the highest, and the value in 95% ethanol was the lowest. Results are correlated by semi-empirical equations, which show a good fit to the experimental data.

Abstract: Dodecyl polyglucoside was synthesized by glucose and dodecanol using P-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst. The effects catalyst type, proportion of material, reaction temperature and pressure were discussed in this paper. The most appropriate reaction conditions: mole ratio of laurel alcohol and glucose 6:1, mass of ratio of P-toluenesulfonic and glucose 0.008:1, reaction temperature 120°C and reaction pressure 5.0kPa.

Abstract: Two novel organic-inorganic complexed anti-UV finishing agents UV531/TiO2 and UV284/TiO2 were prepared, based on organic benzophenone UV-absorber UV531 and UV284 entrapped in TiO2 sol, and were then characterized by FTIR and TG. The cotton fabrics were finished with the complexed agents with a pad-dry-cure process and the anti-ultraviolet performance of the fabrics was analyzed. The results showed that UV531/TiO2 finished fabrics demonstrated good anti-ultraviolet performance and wash fastness.

Abstract: In this paper, a viable route was adopted for the synthesis of lawsone. The chemical structure of the product was confirmed by UV–Vis, IR, NMR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. The obtained 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone was applied to dye wool fiber by pre-mordanting method with various dyeing conditions and exhibited good washing fastness, dry and wet rubbing fastness and good light fastness. These results may be helpful for the further application investigations into its commercial prospects in textile dyeing industry.

Abstract: An efficient method is described for the synthesis of 2-methoxy-thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin- 4(3H)-one (5) via Gewald reaction, a tandem aza-Wittig reaction and cyclization process. The key step is an aza-Wittig reaction between iminophosphorane (2), 4-chlorophenyl isocyanine and nucleophilic reagent CH3OH. Its structures were determined by means of MS, IR and 1H NMR spectra.

Abstract: Taking earthy graphite and electrolytic powder as raw materials, copper/graphite raw material is prepared by power metallurgy and then polycrystalline diamond powder is prepared by shock wave synthesis. Impaction on yield and abrasion resistance from copper content, particle size of graphite powder, heat treatment and re-pressing process has been researched. As result, yield of polycrystalline diamond powder is decreasing as decreasing copper content. It is decreased dramatically when the copper content is less than 90%. It is increased and then decreased as increasing the particle size of graphite powder, and the better particle size of graphite powder is 70μm. It is increased slightly and then decreased dramatically as increasing heat treatment temperature before re-pressing. The higher the heat treatment temperature, the more the yield after re-pressing. Impaction on the abrasion resistance of polycrystalline diamond powder from the preparing process of copper/graphite is smaller.

Abstract: Amide surfactants have modified structures with lipophilic groups connecting hydrophilic groups through amido bond. The preparation of three families of amide surfactants including long chain N-acyl sarcosinates, amidopropyl dimethyl hydroxypropyl sulfobetaines and lauryl amidopropyl trimethyl ammoniums were discussed. The study of the surface activity of these compounds by measuring the equilibrium surface tensions of their dilute aqueous solutions were described. The minimum surface tension and the critical micelle concentration values of these compounds are given.
