Applications of ARM-Based Remote Monitoring System for Large Scale Poultry Farm

Abstract:

Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) chicken are feuded in barrier system or isolation imple- ments, having good growth and reproductive performance. Through integration with advanced risc machines (ARM) board, an optimized Chicken-Disease Expert System is improved. This paper presents the design and implement of GPRS remote terminal based on ARM MPU (Micro Processor Unit) in SPF chicken farm. At the same time, extensibilities of this software structure are described and sufficiently considered in the system design stage. Therefore, some common defects of similar poultry feeding systems are overcome in implementation. The results show the GPRS remote client can provide a flexible user interface and will play an important role in safety of poultry farms.
