Production of Composite Glass with Increased Mechanical Properties
This paper presents production technology of composite glass and laminated glass composites. These products have mechanical properties better than unmodified glass and they are widely used in: civil engineering, motorization industry, furniture production and in domestic appliances glazing. Glass with improved mechanical properties can be obtained by thermally or chemically treating standard glass. Glass is obtained in this way that has improved flexural strength and greater resistance to thermal loads associated with the uneven heating of the structure. Another way to improve the mechanical properties of glass is to laminate the glass with a foil PVB or resin. The resulting product meets the performance criteria for its use as a protective glazing, with improved sound or fire insulation.
