Abstract: The transmission mode of wireless waves in coal mine tunnel is different from the mode in free space. The multipath propagation of wireless wave is severe in tunnel. As a result, the characteristics study of multipath propagation is very important to the design of wireless communication system in coal mine tunnel. After analyzing the multipath propagation attenuation in tunnel, the statistics of single frequency signal, narrowband signal and broadband signal are obtained. This is the foundation for the application of resisting multipath decline techniques.

Abstract: A yawning detection method which can be used in drivers’ fatigue monitoring is proposed. To adapt to the variance in different mouth shapes and sizes, it based on mouth inner contour corner detection and curve fitting. First, the Harris corner detection algorithm was used to detect inner mouth feature points. Second, we established the open mouths’ mathematical model by curve fitting those points, calculated the degree of mouth openness using the mouth model, and generated the real-time M-curve. Third, the duration of big openness in successive images is divided into levels for further judgment. The validation results show that the method can obtain more precise mouth parameters and distinguish yawn from complex mouth activities. So the method achieves a higher level of accuracy.

Abstract: Currently, face recognition plays an important role in many applications ranging from access control, suspect identification to automatic target recognition. Compared to these mature face recognition techniques, another kind of similar technique, which transfers human faces to abstract cartoon faces, is currently neglected until recent years. This paper mainly presents the approach on converting real face photos to cartoon pictures. In this paper, edge detection methods are used to for face and feature recognition, and feature-based sense organs matching methods are also developed for cartoon avatar generation according to facial feature correlation of the cartoon image galleries.

Abstract: Test airplane timing equipment automatically is usually difficult because of great working current and strong electromagnetic interference . This article analyzed automatic test on airplane timing equipment based on ATS platform that uses digital I/O module and VXI bus, which can reduce the impact of the device operating current on the system. Moreover, the method can execute parallel test on several working hours at a time.

Abstract: In order to effectively extract Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) image feature information, and automatically identify the CHM images, a method of CHM image feature extraction and recognition based on gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) is put forward. Firstly, on the basis of the acquired colour CHM image is converted to the gray-scale image, the four texture feature parameters, angular second moment (ASM),inertia moment (IM),entropy and correlation are extracted utilizing the GLCM, and then CHM image recognition is carried out by using those feature values with resistance geometric distortion. The experimental results show that the method of generating GLCM and extraction of image texture features can effectively identify the CHM image, which can bring significance to the modern recognition and identification of CHM.

Abstract: Spectrums of 17 biological tissue phantoms were measured using the fiber-optic spectrometer. Then, the spectrum was preprocessed by multiplicative scatter correction method to devoice the spectrum. Afterwards the features of the spectrum were extracted via principal component analysis. Ultimately, we applied cluster analysis for the spectral features. The results showed that the accumulated credibility of the first 12 spectral principal components was 99.86% for the spectrum after preprocessing; indicating that this spectrum feature extraction might be done in the case of losing no key information. And the results showed that the 17 biological tissue phantoms can be divided into four main categories according their optical features.

Abstract: An image restoration algorithm based on improved particle swarm optimization is presented. The algorithm has the ability of searching fast, and can effectively avoid the local optimal solution. Experimental results indicate that this algorithm is insensitive to image noise, and can be effective to different types of degraded images restoration.

Abstract: Convergence of a class of nonorthogonal wavelet is researched. Starting from a Riesz basis which is generated by a scale function, a class of nonorthogonal wavelet expansions are constructed. Remainders of the wavelet expansions are analyzed and estimated. Then convergence and convergence rate of the wavelet expansions in norm are obtained.

Abstract: A kind of distribution selection method is researched for the right censored data situation. It can be widely applied in life sciences, medicine and health, reliability engineering, aerospace , social sciences and other related fields. By using a common PL estimation curve as a basic curve, a kind of distribution selection method is proposed to solve the parameter distribution problem of right censored data. This method can meet the selection requirement of data distribution in reliability assessment and other data analysis. It can guide the engineer and technician to choose a reasonable choice of the fitting of the data distribution, and it can improve the accuracy and efficiency of the reliability assessment.

Abstract: Sophisticated ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) use vision based methods for detection and keeping track of ahead driving cars. With thus acquired data it is possible to implement e.g. following up functions to automatically keep equal distance to ahead driving vehicles or avoid collisions with obstacles ahead. Known vision based methods for detection and tracking of vehicles use its underneath shadow on the road. The main drawbacks of those methods are the detection and identification of a shadow belonging to a vehicle is neither reliable nor robust, and the thereto required processing of the camera images is very expensive concerning processing time. To improve reliability and detectability we propose here to use an approach which is different from the known methods a nonparametric one; to improve processing speed we propose to apply diversity-sampling to condense the image data before processing it.
