Abstract: This paper narrates the basic principle of the computer aided design for car styling and analyzes the current status of building the high-quality surfaces in the computer aided design for car styling and “the basic process model of digital car styling” .to build “the sbasic process model based on CAS digital modeling. It points out the research content and method of the car digital model and provides theoretical basis for the research of the car styling digital model. In the conventional early design of car styling, generally the revision of design schemes consumes much time and energies. Revisions have been continuously made from the initial creative idea to the later clay model before entering into the engineering design. With the rapid development of the computer technology, the digital technology has become the leading one for the car styling development. During the design process, the digital design of car styling has evolved from the rendering into the engineering design. In order to convey the styling idea that expresses in the design sketch in a rapid and accurate way, it requires a clear expression system and based on the system, the digital model is made. Otherwise, even the good modeling technology and the high-quality surfaces become useless without clearly expressing the idea. The computer aided design for car styling is advanced, but there still exist many problems. The paper aims to put forward a rapidly modeling method of high quality car surfaces based on digital modeling and explore its feasibility during the actual application, by analyzing the current status of building the high-quality surfaces in the computer aided design for car styling and the basic process of the computer aided design for car styling and discussing problems existed during the expression of the design, as well as combining other methods of the computer aided design in other fields.

Abstract: Advanced manufacturing concepts such as cellular and flexible manufacturing may require the formation of part families and machine cells. Many algorithms have been proposed for this and cluster identification (CI) is one such approach. The original CI approach is effective only for perfectly separable cases. Followup efforts use a branch and bound framework to make the CI approach work in partially separable cases. Although the branch and bound framework is useful, it may still produce infeasible solutions. In this paper, we adopt an improved branching scheme to deal with the problem. Computational results are also reported.

Abstract: Aimed at disadvantages of tedious work of the gear teeth design, Visual Fortran is taken as the development platform, and design data are stored and managed by self-developed program and database technology. A CAD System for Gear Teeth named GTCS is researched and developed. The system integrates designing and drawing in a body, and fully uses the powerful numerical calculation function of Visual Fortran and the function of Windows interface design, as well as the secondary development function of AutoCAD and database technology, etc. The software can realize designing and calculating of involute gear teeth and transmission mechanism, automatic drawing and various kinds of results post-processing. Results show that the research results greatly improved the efficiency and quality of the design. The result documents are easily accessible by other structural analysis software (such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, ADINA, etc) and similar design software, and convenient to use for the follow-up work.

Abstract: Markovian process is one of the processes used worldwide in organizations for a long time. The memorylessness characteristic of markovian process is important to consider. This paper considers the various applications of markov chain in different organizations, both production and service sectors. It is shown that markov chain is used in different branches of activities. Literature review indicates that markov chain is mostly used in inventory control practices, queuing theories, reliability system, design optimization, maintenance practices and quality control systems. In order to make the best decision while facing changes in real world life markov chain is used so that we can optimize the results.

Abstract: The study focuses on the information acquisition in assembly line with radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. After analyzing the situation of information acquisition in assembly line, an identification information acquisition frame based on integration of RFID and barcode is proposed. For the different requirement of identification granularity and manufacturing process information the parts are divided into three classes and identified with corresponding technology. The application result shows the production efficiency and quality is improved; the synchronization of logistics and information flow in manufacture is enhanced.

Abstract: On this paper, a study of robot based remote laser welding technology for manufacturing light car body was conducted. Laser welding and industrial robotic systems were used with robot-based laser welding systems. The laser system used in this study was 1.6kW fiber laser, while the robot system was Industrial robot (payload : 130kg). The robot-based laser welding system was equipped with a laser scanner system for remote laser welding. Laser patterning on the fly needs to control some parameters to accomplish the desired shape and good quality of the welded pattern. The scan path and the mark speed as two control parameters of the laser scanner are numerically computed from pattern shape and robot motion. However, time-delay in operation of the laser scanner and the robot makes unexpected geometric error between the desired pattern and the welded pattern. The pattern sequence and the robot path is optimized to reduce total processing time. The proposed method is tested with various patterns and robot paths, and the welded patterns are validated by measuring their geometries and positions. Finally, the experimental results show that our method is suitable for laser patterning on the fly. The welding joints of steel plate and steel plate coated with zinc were butt and lapped joints. The quality testing of the laser welding was conducted by observing the shape of the beads on the plate and the cross-section of the welded parts, analyzing the results of mechanical tensile test. The remote laser welding system with laser scanner system is used to increase the processing speed and to improve the efficiency of processes. This paper proposes the robot-based remote laser welding system as a means of resolving the limited welding speed and accuracy of conventional laser welding systems.

Abstract: This paper deals with collaborative-based framework for business workflows development and management on the web site (CFBWDM) in global manufacturing environment. The framework has been developed on the collaboration analysis among Lithuanian and European Union industrial companies based on the three type’s knowledge: marketing, products and processes development and products manufacturing. Interacting among developed framework sections by Internet software and interfaces is carried out. The CFBWDM framework has been tested and adopted in some Lithuanian manufacturing companies.
