Abstract: To realize machine tool modular customization and configuration, the driving and mapping model of customer requirement is established in the environment of various customer requirement and mass individualized customization, which can transform processing of parts driven by customer requirement into function configuration FC, structure configuration SC and appearance configuration AC (3C) of module features. Besides, to solve the question of module manufacturability, by module compatibility analysis on dynamic, kinematic and aesthetic (MC3), a multi-dimensional configuration method for manufacturable of modular machine tool based on MC33C is proposed in this paper. Finally, A case study is given to prove effectiveness and adaptability of the proposed method, and the result shows that the various and individualized requirements are meet and design efficiency is improved.

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the potential of hydroforming process combined with the Engineering Design Science (EDS) in single piece production of a technical product. The chosen demonstration product for this integrated approach is a ski riser for extreme carving. Its load-bearing base is an intricate-shape part that is well suited for modified hydroforming process in an isostatic press. In order to reduce production costs, rapid prototyping and rapid tooling methods were used.

Abstract: The pipe thread forming machine was innovatively designed in the article, using Pro/E as a design tool, we built the structural model of the pipe thread forming machine and performed interference detection and movement simulation for it, on the basis of this, we made a physical prototype. And our experiment showed the complete machine has the characteristics of high efficiency, tight structure, small volume and light weight, and it was easy to move.

Abstract: This paper describes the robust design of the Quadratic linear actuator. The linear actuator is higher efficiency than the existing rotary or reciprocating actuator. The linear actuator, however, has the inherent drawback of air gap variation because its linear motion is usually guided by springs and its dynamic performance is difficult to maintain. This paper, presents the robust design of quadratic linear actuator based on the Taguchi method that is not influenced by the air gap variation.

Abstract: The paper analyses the problem of design of the magnetorheological (MR) fluid valve to be constrained within the cylindrical hole in the stationary barrier of rotary shock-absorber. The main objective is to maximise valve’s dynamic range (i.e. controllable/passive ratio of shock-absorber’s resistance torque) thus to maximise controlled part of the pressure drop along the MR valve. To obtain this, a special type of two-winding configuration with annular fluid gap is proposed.

Abstract: The main aim of the article was to present the investigation results of created megnetorheological fluids using carbonyl iron (CI) particles and analyse their behaviour in terms of the internal structure formation by a control of external magnetic field. Results of the experimental studies of a prototype magnetorheological rotary shock-absorber at various magnitudes of control current was presented in this paper.

Abstract: The development of modern technologies should be reflected in all spheres of its use and that includes such an important sector as heavy machinery construction. The equipment in heavy machinery industry usually has its own specifics such as large sizes, heavy weight and tough working conditions. This imposes significant constraints on the development. Often such machines are still designed with the use of complex mechanical transmissions to ensure coherent motion of mechanisms. But such work is entirely tied to the mechanics and is not flexible, therefore easily reconfigurable. With the advent of low-inertia servo-motors in the line of motors it became possible to make a big step forward in the development of heavy industry.

Abstract: The valve plate of the hot blast valve is to rely on itself spiral waterway to cool. In the course of actual use, there is uneven actuality that it is cold and hot for the Valve plate of the hot blast valve. In this article, by means of COSMOSFloworks software, based on classic formula for convective heat transfer of heat transfer, we do flow field analysis for the waterway of the valve plate of DN1800 hot blast valve for certain Heavy Industry Group of our country. And analytical result indicates: Uneven distribution of water velocity in the valve plate is an important reason for causing unequal heat exchange of the valve plate and local thermal shock. In order to improve cooling uniformity, the central flow state of the type valve Plate should be altered and water cooling structure of inner water ring edge should be widen, finally the increase of the life of the valve plate can be reached.

Abstract: According to actual geometry size of vibrating feeder, the finite element calculating model for vibrating feeder box is established in this paper. ANSYS software is used to perform modal analysis and dynamic strength analysis for the vibration feeder box, and the former ten modal frequencies of the sieving box and dynamic stress of the sieving box whole is obtained, which provides a theoretical basis for strength design of the vibrating feeder.

Abstract: Kitchen Vehicle is an indispensable equipment to guarantee the food in battlefield, which played an important role in series of activities include military exercise, flood-fighting rescue and earthquake relief. Water is a necessity in processing staple and non-staple food in field operations, so there is an urgent need to have one safety water supply device with smaller volume and lighter weight to meet the demands of field kitchen work, therefore, a small vehicular water purifier based on the membrane filtration technology plus activated carbon adsorption and ultraviolet light disinfection technology is developed.
