A Framework for Evaluating the Performance of RFID-Enabled Supply Chain

Article Preview

Abstract:

As an automatic identification and data capture technology, RFID can greatly enhance the visibility of the supply chain and has a significant impact on its’ performance. However, because the investment of the technology is expensive and time-consuming, the application in supply chain cannot assure to make positive outputs. So it is important to fully understand the technology’s impact on the supply chain performances and take advantage of its potential benefits. For this purpose, this article analyzes and categorizes RFID’s benefits and the influence factors, and then setup a connection with supply chain performance. Subsequently, we propose a framework for evaluating the performance of RFID-enabled supply chain. Through the framework, we can comprehensively and clearly evaluate the performances of the RFID and make our decision more reasonable and suitable for the real.
