Application of Snakes Model in Metal Fracture Images Processing

Article Preview

Abstract:

This paper is using contour line model (Snake model) and the principle of mathematical morphology to process the SEM, AFM, TEM image of metal failure.Including the image denoising and enhancement, target segmentation. Because of SEM, AFM, TEM image can better reaction the metal fracture failure in microstructure, suitable to analyze its image characteristics, then combined with the method of the paper uses to process the scanning image. The experimental results show that, using the Snake model for metal failure image processing is practical and effective feasible, can obviously improve image quality.
