Free-Form Surface Reconstruction Based on Interpolate Subdivision

The subdivision calculation method of a subdivision surface plays an important role on the precision of a surface reconstruction. This paper, with the fundamental of current research on subdivision surface, present a calculation method of recursive interpolation with general meaning based on initial triangular mesh. Optimization of selection on weighting coefficient for abnormal vertices and boundary interpolate calculation improves the modeling capacity of interpolate subdivision surface. The subdivision surface is carried out on an example of complicate free-form surface, and compared with other subdivision models through tolerance analysis.
