Research on Materials Corrosion Failure Model of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Cylinder for Vehicle

Article Preview

Abstract:

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) cylinders application for vehicle is a new type of product in China, but the reaserch of its safety performance is less. The paper analyzed the mechanism and origination of corrosion failure of LNG cylinder materials, simulated the corrosion failure model quantitatively based on ansys software and obtained the maximum corrosion of LNG cylinders under the nominal working pressure of 1.6MPa and 3.2Mpa. The effective measure to prevent the corrosion failure of LNG cylinder is also proposed in this article.
