Analysis on Planning and Design Strategy of Residential Communities at Low-Carbon Situation

Abstract:

Nowadays massive CO2 emissions has become a serious environmental problem in the world, low carbon consumption has increasingly influenced on the economic development. This paper states the problems in the development of residential communities from three aspects: government, developers and planners at low-carbon situation in China, It also explores the specific strategies of planning and design for residential communities from six aspects: site selection, space layout, road transportation, landscape, public service facilities and architectural design from planners angle to achieve low carbon. As a pilot investigation, authors wish to provide a theoretical basis for the relevant research and practice of the low-carbon development of residential communities.
