An Approach to Website Structure Optimization Based on Navigation Cost

Article Preview

Abstract:

Website structure was described as an un-weighted digraph. The concept of website navigation cost as a measurement scale to evaluate the optimization degree of the website structure was presented. Based on the ideas of semantic similarity and information entropy, a quantification model of the website navigation cost was built up. And an improved Path Tree Spanning Algorithm was proposed to construct all the access paths of the website. Case study shows that the approach introduced in this paper can not only bring the new ideas and methods to the website structure optimization, but also provide further support for the website designers to develop optimization design of the website.
