Numerical Simulation of Upset-Bending Forging for Heavy Crankshaft

Article Preview

Abstract:

Based on the finite element numerical simulation technology, taking marine crankshaft 305 as an example, the upset-bending forging simulation and comparative analysis for heavy crankshaft were done, which will be an important reference for the production practice. Results indicate that processing with bar-stock as the blank will be better than that with stepped shafts in case of forming quality and volume of raw material, but requires larger forming force.
