Effect of BiCl3 on the Morphology and Property of PVDF Films

Article Preview

Abstract:

Different mass fraction of BiCl3 was added into the PVDF film to increase the content of β-phase. XRD and SEM were used to analyze the crystalline phase and microstructure of the films. The results show that adding of BiCl3 increases the content of β-phase in the films. The possible reason of the increment of β-phase is that the addition of BiCl3 can make the free radicals of PVDF with electric charge return to their original position and consequently improve the degree of crystalline of β-phase. Dielectric and thermal properties were also analyzed. When mass fraction of BiCl3 is 2%, the PVDF film has the highest degree of crystalline and best properties.
