Abstract: Natural dye was extracted from the mangosteen pericarps using UE method. The work dealed with the investigation of cotton fabric samples dyed with natural dye. The effects of different dye concentrations and pH values were estimated by the dye-uptake(K)and the color difference(△E). And the effects of different dyeing methods of direct dyeing, pre-mordant and after-mordant were tested when alum was used as a mordant. The highest K and △E were obtained on using pre-mordant method when dye concentration was used as 30g/L and pH value as 3. And the color fastness properties of rubbing, washing and perspiration were tested. Compared with the pre-mordant method, it was quite satisfactory for after-mordant method where its ranged between 2-3 to 4-5.

Abstract: Textile research has become an important field of archaeology. Many dyeing techniques, which were used during prehistoric times, are still in use today. An experimental study was utilized here to reproduce natural organic dye processes from ancient times, in order to better interpret the archaeological textile material.

Abstract: To get the accepted related error between real and measured concentration, some mathematics methods may be used. After they are compared, double wavelengths spectrophotometry is choosen. This method has many advantages, such as simple operation, low demand and favorable effect. And the situation about determining the concentration and relative error of two components under different mixed proportion were discussed. Finally, the conclusion is indicated that double wavelengths spectrophotometry is a quite ideal method. The concentration of dye may be measured easily and the related error is quite low below 8%.

Abstract: The 100% cotton twill fabrics were dyed by indigo blue leuco solutions that containing indigo blue (5 gdm-3) sodium hydroxide (8gdm-3) sodium dithionite (12 gdm-3) and auxiliaries (1 gdm-3), the auxiliaries used are dispersing agent NNOleveling agent Peregal O-25alkali resistant penetrant SDR and color deepening penetrant DP individually. The properties of auxiliarys solutions and the performance of dyed fabrics were tested and measured, the results shown that the color yield of indigo blue dyeing with DP increased by 15% compared to the others, its washingrubbing fastness also improved.

Abstract: The present investigation undertook the dyeing process of cotton fabric with cationic pigments, and the principal component analysis method has been proposed to study the importance of each variable and correlation based on MATLAB software. Three principal components are extracted as the new variables to provide reference to the cationic pigment dyeing process control and to obtain the best effect of energy saving and emission reduction.

Abstract: The reactive dyes originally designed for cotton were applied to silk printing. The influence of alkali category and dosage, temperature and relative humidity of vapor was discussed in the case of the use of 2% dye, and the staining on white ground during soaping was also discussed. The satisfactory printing effect was achieved when 1% NaHCO3 or KHCO3 was used as an alkaline agent, and steaming was performed at 102-105°C and 90% relative humidity. The level of staining on the white ground was found to vary with dye catagories. This study indicates that the specially selected reactive dyes can be successfully used in silk printing.

Abstract: The clean dyeing of cotton fabric was realized using UV-induced photografting of modified reactive dye. The reactive dye was interacted with 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol to introduce C=C double bonds. The modification conditions of reactive dye were discussed. The dyed cotton fabric was measured by color difference, scanning electron microscope(SEM),and attenuate total reflection Fourier Transform infrared(ATR-FTIR). Under the conditions of pH value of 8, C.I. reactive red dye 198/2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol mole ratio of about 1:3, interaction time of 40 min, interaction temperature of 70°C, and dye concentration of 40g/L,good color depth of cotton fabric was achieved. The results of SEM and ATR-FTIR verified the occurrence of graft polymerization.

Abstract: In this paper, nanosol of titanium dioxide was prepared by sol-gel method using tetrabutyl-titanate as a precursor. The Particle Size Analyzer test results showed that the average diameter of the particles was less than 10 nm, and most particle size ranged from 6nm to 16nm. The prepared mechanism was discussed and then applied to fixation of vegetable turmeric dyed tussah silk. The fixation results indicated that the rubber fastness and washing fastness increased remarkably and the K/S values changed a little.

Abstract: Based on transfer matrix method (TMM), the model and calculation of 3-D Photonic Crystal with Face-Centered-Cubic (FCC) Structure are presented. The microsphere size, the crystal stack thickness and the incident angle have an influence on optical properties of 3-D Photonic Crystal. With the microsphere size increasing, the wavelength corresponding to the positions of PBG becomes larger causing structural color changing from blue to red. The reflectivity becomes higher and PBG is narrower when the crystal stack thickness increases. With the incident angle becoming larger, the reflectivity does not change significantly, while the wavelength corresponding to the positions of PBG becomes shorter causing structural color changing from red to blue.

Abstract: To enrich the color of natural dyes, a natural pigment was extracted from black rice and used to dye tussah silk. The stability of the extract to mordant ions was investigated by Visible Spectrum and the effect of the dyeing pH, dyeing temperature, dyeing time as well as mordant process on dyeing properties (K/S value) were studied, the optimum dyeing process was obtained. The results show that the optimized direct dyeing process is pH value 4. 5, dyeing at 90 °C for 60 min, the color of dyed fabric various with metal ions. In comparison, the fabric post-mordant dyeing with ferrous sulfate exhibits the higher color depth and better color fastness.
