A Study of Performance Influence Caused by Mode Interference for Vibratory Cylindrical Gyroscope

Article Preview

Abstract:

The interference mode has a significant bad influence on the performance of the VCG, in order to reduce the interference, the interference modes frequency should be far away from the working frequency of the VCG. In this article, the FEM software ANASYS is used to analyze the vibration mode of the resonator with a PCB base and a steel base, the frequency response of these two kinds resonators are measured, finally, the performance of the gyroscopes are tested. From the testing results we can find, by changing the resonators base from PCB to steel, the interference mode is eliminated, and the zero-bias instability of the gyroscope is improved from 3.37°/h to 0.73°/h.
