Abstract: Because of increased competition between healthcare providers, higher customer expectations, stringent checks on insurance payments and new government regulations, it has become vital for healthcare organisations to enhance the quality of the care they provide, to increase efficiency, and to improve the cost effectiveness of their services. Consequently, a number of quality management concepts and tools are employed in the healthcare domain to achieve the most efficient ways of using time, manpower, space and other resources. Emergency departments are designed to provide a high-quality medical service with immediate availability of resources to those in need of emergency care. The challenge of maintaining a smooth flow of patients in emergency departments is a global problem. This study attempts to improve the patient flow in emergency departments by considering Lean techniques and Six Sigma methodology in a comprehensive conceptual framework.
The proposed research will develop a systematic approach through integration of Lean techniques with Six Sigma methodology to improve patient flow in emergency departments. The results reported in this paper are based on a standard questionnaire survey of 350 patients in the Emergency Department of Aseer Central Hospital in Saudi Arabia. The results of the study led us to determine the most significant variables affecting patient satisfaction with patient flow, including waiting time during patient treatment in the emergency department; effectiveness of the system when dealing with the patients complaints; and the layout of the emergency department. The proposed model will be developed within a performance evaluation metric based on these critical variables, to be evaluated in future work within fuzzy logic for continuous quality improvement.

Abstract: Virtual Reality combines multiple computer technology and information technology branch, to create a simulation of the real space provided strong support for an image of human-computer interaction techniques. VR calculated by computer simulation of various lights, sound and sensor devices allow users to feel immersive, real-time perception and conduct a natural interaction. This thesis is mainly based on virtual reality technology Virtual Campus Roaming System optimization algorithm for practical engineering application of virtual reality technology to provide a basis.

Abstract: The structural optimization design considering reliability requirements was proposed based on Fourier orthogonal neural network method. The reliability-based optimization design of the structure is a combination of the structural reliability theory and mathematical optimization methods. The Fourier orthogonal neural network was used to analysis reliability of the structure and also to simulate the relationship between the fatigue reliability and geometry dimension of the structure. The structural reliability requirements were taken as constraints while the structural volume as the objective function, with Fourier orthogonal neural network method, the optimization results of the structure was obtained with a minimum cost, thus can make technical and economic benefits besides the structural reliability.

Abstract: This paper introduced that how to manage HTTP session in in WebSphere Application Server V7 cluster, and what is Session Affinity, how to achieve the persistence management. The merits and drawbacks of two kinds of schemes are discussed which are be supported by WebSphere Application Server. In the end, some suggestions for persistence management tuning are proposed to meet the users’ requirement of high performance and high reliability.

Abstract: The main research work and its technical characteristics of this article are: Apply Java language, MySQL database to complete the design and development of instant messaging software on the basis of cross-platform Qt development framework and Android operating system, reflecting the cross-platform design ideas; the introduction of a multi-threaded server based on decision tree and decision-making mechanism, after the original user message encrypted MD5 algorithm, information is placed in UDP packets for network transmission, so that the system has excellent time response and security feature. In order to optimize the man-machine interface, with the QT development platform, the client adopt the popular MVC design pattern and decorative design pattern.

Abstract: To resolve the problem of a large amount of automated test scripts and test data files, through the test tool QTP, data-driven and keyword-driven testing mechanism, a test automation framework based on three layer data-driven mechanism is designed, including the design of the TestSet managing test case files, the design of the TestCase storing test cases and the design of the TestData storing test data.Through controlling the test scale and applying the test data pool, reconfigurable and optimization of test scripts are designed. The methods above can decouple the test design and the script development, make test cases and data show a more humane design, make test scripts and test data on the business level optimized and reusable, and make the number of script files and the test data files reache a minimum, which reduces the occupied space.

Abstract: Designers need to consider both the functional and production process requirements at the early stage of product development. A variety of the research works found in the literature has been proposed to assist designers in selecting the most viable manufacturing process chain. However, they do not provide any assistance for designers to evaluate the processes according to the particular circumstances of their company. This paper describes a framework of an Activity and Resource Advisory System (ARAS) that generates advice about the required activities and the possible resources for various manufacturing process chains. The system provides more insight, more flexibility, and a more holistic and suited approach for designers to evaluate and then select the most viable manufacturing process chain at the early stage of product development.

Abstract: Aiming at the functional and structural characteristics of helicopter power transmission systems, this paper researches on the dynamic reliability modeling and simulating methods of complex mechanical systems. The hardware reliability, the human reliability and the software reliability related to helicopter power transmission systems are analyzed in this paper from the view point of systems engineering; the General Stochastic Petri Nets (GSPN) reliability models are established and the availability is simulated. According to the logistic connection among the attributions of the systems availability, two conceptions are presented: degree of facilitation and a new availability calculation model. Results show that the calculational value is very close to the simulating value. The new model based on facilitation is proved to be correct. The paper contributes to provide an effective reliability analyzing method and theoretical basis for complex mechanical system.

Abstract: The problem of one-level distribution centers is researched in this paper. It is a customer-oriented problem. This paper is from the perspective of manufacturing enterprises. The assumed conditions about location are put forward. The costs associated with distribution center location are analyzed. Distribution center location model is built by 0-1 mixed integer programming. And the software LINGO is used to solve the model. Distribution center location algorithm is verified by an example in the paper. The example explains that combining 0-1 mixed integer programming with LINGO is simple and effective to distribution center location.
