Renovation of Urban Traffic in Shenyang City by the Twelfth National Games of China

Abstract:

In order to explore the effects of The Twelfth National Games of China (TNGC) on host city traffic, and improve efficiency of city traffic, we applied questionnaire survey and interview with local residents to acquire the change information of city traffic in Shenyang City. We analyzed city traffic conditions during preparatory period of TNGC, and change of urban traffic from TNGC including traffic road planning, running time of bus, subway construction, etc. Results indicated that TNGC has accelerated construction of transportation system. But there were still some problems, such as road construction leading to nearby residents inconvenience. Finally we puts forward some suggestions that before road were repaired, government tried to build a temporary, patency channel for residents in the vicinity.
