Enhancing Safety and Security of Networked FPGA-Based Embedded Systems

Article Preview

Abstract:

Embedded systems are supporting our society in more and more ways, replacing former mechanical and manual solutions and also assist us in absolutely new situations. They become indispensable to our civilization, therefore their correct and secure services are of utmost importance. But the new phenomenon of global networking rises another treat to our safety. Embedded systems are interconnected in a world-wide network and compromising security of single device may impact safety of bigger system. This paper discusses influence of security on safety of system of systems, and presents researches on FPGA-based embedded systems which may resolve some of posed issues.
