Application of Finite Element Analysis on Lightweight Design to Coaches

Abstract:

A finite element model of a coach is created by HYPERMESH software. Then finite element analysis is carried out using OPTISTRUCT software for the coach structure. Based on the analysis results, the lightweight structure is designed under the guaranty of operation stiffness and strength. Finally the rollover analysis and optimization design to the lightweight structure are carried out to ensure the rollover safety of the strength for the superstructure of coaches.
