Abstract: This research aims to improve the operating delivery system of water-treatment chemicals by establishing a chemicals inventory policy for planning appropriate chemicals delivery to five customers in the case study. Currently the company does not exploit tradeoff between transportation cost and inventory holding cost which benefits for cost reduction in terms of inventory management and chemicals delivery. The customers demand for chemicals consumption is uncertain depending on the quality of raw water and production rate. While company has constraints such as limit of transportation truck quantity and inventory review interval by the company. Therefore, for the factors mentioned, this research uses the periodic review system which demand is uncertain as an inventory model. Data from customers chemicals consumption in 2012 is used to conduct the inventory order up to level (OUL) for planning chemicals delivery to customers. Then, the research tests the delivery plan by using Monte Carlo simulation compared to the actual operation data from January to June 2013. It is found that the proposed operating system can reduce inventory cost by up to 33%.

Abstract: This study focuses on potentials for development of high-quality beef industry in Thailand by reviewing information from various sources such as articles and web pages, including interviewing beef processors. We describe a situation of beef in ASEAN countries, demonstrated a beef supply chain and situation of high-quality beef in Thailand. Potentials and suggestion for development of high-quality beef industry are presented. This study shows that Thailand has potential for development of high-quality beef industry for exporting to ASEAN countries. However, there are problems in the supply chain regarding cattle farming, and food quality and safety need to be improved.

Abstract: This paper aims to analyze ethanol supply chain in Thailand. The analysis covered three main parts: supply chain structure, material flow and related costs in supply chain. The results showed that Thai ethanol supply chain is complex because it involves many stakeholders in both public and private agencies. Molasses and cassava are the main feedstocks of ethanol production in Thailand, so the upstream suppliers of ethanol supply chain are sugarcane and cassava farmers, and the collectors. The feedstocks cost of ethanol plants is high due to the fluctuation of sugarcane and cassava price. There is also a trade barrier to control both production and transportation of ethanol because it under the Liquor Act. Moreover, the distribution of ethanol has low efficiency and long distance of truck transport contribute to high transportation cost. Consequently, logistics system of Thai ethanol supply chain should be improved more efficient in order to support demand expansion of ethanol industry.

Abstract: This paper focuses on storage location assignment and exported container relocation in container yard of container terminal with the objective of minimizing the number of container lifting. On the lifting steps, the truck with yard crane should be chosen in order to deliver a container from container yard to container ship, and this action can reduce container ship's docking time and increase effectiveness in container terminal service. In this paper, a genetic algorithm (GA) in container storage assignment and a heuristic for the container relocation determination are adopted. Also, the current practice including first-in-first-stored (FIFS) and simple relocation (SR) is used to compare the effectiveness of the GA and the proposed heuristic (RH). The experimental result presented that the proposed method is able to construct the effective solutions of storage location assignment of exported containers, and it reduces the number of relocations of exported container effectively.

Abstract: This paper reports the results of a study to use the ant colony optimization (ACO) in solving an export container stacking and storage problem of a container terminal port. Three different methods of solutions based on different initial solution techniques and the current method used by the port were used to test forty sample problems which were classified into four problem types representing different patterns of container arrivals. The results of this study revealed that the three methods based on the ACO could be used to improve the total time taken for stacking and storage of the export containers for all problem types. Among the methods investigated, the heuristic-based ant colony optimization (BACO) method proved to be the most efficient for all problem types, with the relative improvements over the current method ranging from 25.4-38.7%.

Abstract: s: Cambodia is a developing country, and mining sector is just started within the last 10 years. Many mining companies have started to explore and carry out the feasibility study amid the scarcity of geological data and technical code of practices. Therefore, the quarry sector is also considered at the early stage in Cambodia, and it is required a standard quarry planning practice. This paper will present the main concepts of (1) quarry operation, development, and design by using the commercial program Minesight to accommodate the mine planning and scheduling. as the result, 25 million ton of limestone was calculated to be a reserve with production of 1 million ton per year; (2) financial model, consisted of cash flow analysis, net present values (NPV), and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) are the main point for economics consideration. In this point, 47% of internal rate of return was calculated with the net present values of 21.5 million US Dollar and (3) the environmental impact which involves dust, noise, vibration impacts and mine rehabilitation, will be addressed base on the specific local conditions.

Abstract: One of the strategies for developing countries is spurring the development of regional excellence through the development of Small and Medium Manufacturing Industries (SMMI) with a clustering approach. With the industry cluster approach to the potential that exists in the region can develop due to be analyzed in a comprehensive and integral. Industrial cluster is to form an organizational structure for economic development and trade in the global context. Industrial cluster as an instrument of industrial policy is an effective platform to respond to economic decentralization and the development of effective SMMI in Indonesia. With industrial clusters, the potential that exists in the region can be developed in accordance with core competencies possessed. Cluster development of SMMI center effective and dynamic can be done with some of the following: (1) Industry cluster development approach needs is grown. The essence of the strategy is the creation of a unified and solid cluster to build a synergy to achieve an economic growth with a wide base. (2) With the passage of local autonomy, the SMMI sector plays an important role in national economic development. Open opportunities for local governments to provide facilities for the development of regional advantages (potential territory), including the development of SMMI. For that we need the synergy between the main activities auxiliary activities, and (3) Development of SMMI focused on driving regional economic groups, among which SMMI supporters, SMMI export-oriented group, and SMMI the new initiative. The motivation and contribution of this research, this research is expected to provide benefits or contribution of in the form of recommendations or fill in cultivate the creation of centers of Small and Medium Industry (SMMI) effective and dynamic, with industrial cluster development approach, in developing areas of excellence in other places. Because with regional autonomy has progressed at this time, it is evident that SMMI sector plays an important role in national economic development. The open opportunities for local governments to provide facilities for the development potential of the region, including the development of SMMI, with clustering approach. Keywords: regional excellence, cluster development, Small and Medium Manufacturing Industry (SMMI).

Abstract: The main problem of developing countries is the unpreparedness ready source of labor toward takeoff, the output of formal education in general is not ready to work. As a result, low productivity and lack excelled in competition. In addition, the workers themselves need to follow the development of technology and science, to keep up with other countries. The solution offered to solve the above problem is to do training, there are a variety of ways. The training is being developed is called "Training Strategic Approach". This approach through three stages, namely pre-training, process training, and post-training. Each stage requires several steps according to each company's problems. Companies that have been and are currently applying this method, among others, 70% of mining companies in Indonesia, 85% of large-scale manufacturing companies. Currently other companies began to realize the smaller scale of the importance of improving the performance of labor supported by a conducive working environment Keywords: Training, performance, work environment
