The Development and Application of Grab Design System Based on Solidworks and CBR

Article Preview

Abstract:

Due to the diversity of bulk cargo, different capacity of throughput and complexity of environmental requirements, different grabs need to be designed rapidly to meet demands of users. However, current grab design is inefficiency and relies on experience of designers because there are still no mature and agreed specifications. Together with the design ideas, experience and standards, grab virtual design system, which is the output of secondary development on the basis of common mechanical CAD system by using virtual design theory, is developed and applied to devise new grab. Its application has shortened the design cycle and improved the design efficiency.
