Numerical Examples of Variable Three-Node Beam Elements Based on Positional FEM

Article Preview

Abstract:

Based on MATLAB platform, program TBEP (Three-node Beam Element based on Positional FEM) is compiled. Pure bending of Euler beam and cubic diamond-shaped rigid frame are calculated. The calculation results show that positional FEM uses fewer elements and gains higher calculation precision and efficiency when compared with traditional nonlinear FEM.
