Critical Analysis of Composite Materials for Manufacturing Upper Limbs Orthotics

Article Preview

Abstract:

The paper aims at providing a critical analysis of the materials widely used for manufacturing orthotic devices, especially for the upper limbs area, which is more exposed to mechanical and chemical factors during daily activities. Due to a high variety of materials and shapes it is difficult for users to make a decision regarding the type of device suitable for their situation. Present study offers some experimental proven facts that may facilitate the choice of a suitable orthotic device.
