After verifying the validity of numerical model, emphasis is on the influence of tension on propagation pressure considering isotropic hardening elastoplastic and elastic-perfectly plastic materials.
One should note that equation (2) is derived for SS304, thus only applicable for materials of similar hardening behavior.
Thus more caution is necessary during design of pipelines made of materials with little hardening.
This analysis may serve as a hint for more complex materials that anisotropy is of secondary importance.
