Introduction Nickel-based super-alloys are generally used in materials exposed to high temperatures, e.g. turbine blades or petrochemical pipelines, due to their outstanding creep resistance.
Since these alloys exhibit poor heat corrosion resistance, especially in oxygen-incorporated environments, a surface modification incorporating elements with strong oxygen-affinity such as aluminum, is required.
Several methods to modify surfaces to improve heat corrosion resistance of nickel and its alloys have been proposed by several researchers, for example, pack aluminizing slurry coating [1-6].
It was nevertheless reported that the thermal stability and adherence of α-Al2O3 phase determines the service life of the coated alloys [8-10].
Tu and Yang report that weight gain during oxidation of super-alloys with molybdenum can be reduced up to 10 times by adding small amounts of silicon, in the range of 1 - 4 %wt, into the aluminized layer [15-16].

In general, only indirect evidence for the presence of AlN in sintered Al alloys has been provided.
The aim of this study is to characterize the nitride formed within an Al alloy sintered under nitrogen.
Due to the relatively large surface area of the fine Al powders, the proportion of AlN observed in these alloys is comparatively greater than would be expected in Al alloys prepared by more traditional press and sinter methods.

Introduction One remarkable feature that has been identified in carbon fibre reinforced copper matrix composite (CFR-Cu) is the tailored combination properties of the copper (alloy) matrix, i.e., excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, and the carbon fibre, i.e., low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and high mechanical strength (σmax).
Generally, the coating is made of a metal alloy or a ceramic material aimed to isolate the object from degradation effects, particularly in case of harsh environmental conditions.
Cu-Ni alloys form a continuous series of solid solutions over the whole concentration range and crystallise in a face-centred cubic (FCC) lattice,i.e., the Cu-Ni system exhibits complete solubility in both liquid and solid states.

This is attributed to an increased grain size and a homogeneous distribution of alloying elements.
Solution treatment is normally used to achieve the homogenization of alloying elements and N.

Hence keeping this as a prime objective, the present investigation is aimed at synthesizing bulk quantities of yttrium iron garnet (YIG) in single phase nature through conventional solid state sintering method.
While the compound was calcinated at 900 o C, the secondary peaks of yttrium oxide and iron oxide appears and when the compound is further heated to 1200 o C, the orthoferrite phase appears.
The compound is literally pure in the form of garnet phase of yttrium iron garnet which is clear evident from the above XRD figure 2 as shown above.

At high temperatures, there is a significant decrease in the main indicators characterizing the strength properties of metals and alloys.
Since the study was designed to modify fire resistant compounds, which reduce inflammability of wood and improve corrosion resistance of steel in contact with this wood, samples were coated with flame retardant agents.
It is a well-known fact, phosphorous-containing flame retardants are inorganic compounds with flame retardant properties [13, 14, 15].
So, a phosphorous-containing flame retardant used for wood was selected as a base of these compounds.
They had different compositions of fire retardant impregnating agents and various elements of impregnating compounds for the system “steel–wood”.

Many authors [7, 8-10] have studied the system like all lead-based alloys.
Herewith, given that the state diagram of this system is characterized by the availability of chemical compounds, which, as can be seen from the obtained curves, do not have a noticeable impact on the ST concentration dependence of these melts.
