Materials Engineering Kasteelpark Arenberg 44, B-3001 Heverlee, Belgium Keywords: ECAE, AA1050, fine-grained material, thermal stability, discontinuous grain growth Abstract.
Introduction The strength of metallic materials is improved by grain refinement.
Conclusions In order to produce fine-grained materials in the present CP-aluminium, at least 8 ECAE passes, route C, are necessary to get a homogeneous material and some post-annealing is recommended.
