The phase transition mechanism of ZnO varistor ceramics induced by laser shock wave is the same as that of the metal materials in principle.
In fact, plastic deformation of metal materials is induced by laser shock wave, but elastic deformation of ceramic materials was induced.

This paper reports on results of experiments on BK7 glass materials with a novel tool for fine grinding of faces for optical purposes.
Conclusions At this time there is no experience concerning the tool’s endurance or applicable materials.
