Recently, two sintering methods: Self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS) and two steps: Decomposition - Sintering methods have been successfully applied for TiNi system [4 5].
The total powder weight for one time was 20 gr, and the composition of TiH2, Nb, and Zr were 18.2 gr, 1.27 gr and 1.26 gr, respectively to obtain the ratio of Ti-3.5Nb-3.5Zr in weigh percent, in which 18.2 gr TiH2 was corresponding to 17.47gr Ti after decomposition reaction: TiH2 ® Ti + H2 (1) Metal powder mixture is crushed and mixed on drum mixer with specifications: drum size (in mm) LxD = 142x136, drum rotation speed 60pm, ball size d = 10 mm, ball ratio / flour = 10/1, grinding time 2h.

The toughness of TiB2–TiC can be improved by adding certain content of nickel to form (TiB2 –TiC)pNi composite ceramics that have been produced by various techniques such as powder metallurgy [5], conventional melting and casting [6], SHS and FAPAS combustion processes [7-9].
