Materials and methods Sodium alginate (Chemical pure, molecular weight [9005-38-3]) and calcium chloride (CaCl2) (Analytically pure, molecular weight 110.8) were used to form the hydrogel. 4% (w /v) sodium alginate was dissolved in deionized water and placed in a shaker for 10 h at 120 rpm at ambient temperature.
