Impact of pH Value and Temperature on Cement-based Materials Adsorbing Heavy Metal Ions Yali Wanga*, Suping Cuib, Xikui Xuc, Mingzhang Land College of Materials Science and Engineering, Beijing University of Technology, 100 Pingleyuan, Chaoyang District, Beijing 100124, China.
Micro-structure analysis shows that cement-based materials’ main adsorption methods are different when pH values are different.
Permeable pavement materials can discharge the rainwater very fast and prevent surface accumulated water.
Summary Cement-based materials have selective adsorption phenomenon for different heavy metal ions (Cu2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, Cd2+).In addition to zinc ions, the cement-based materials’ capacity of adsorbing heavy metal ions increases as the pH value and the temperature increase.
