Fig.5 shows the percentages of surface roughness improvement in the two materials with 20% W7 Al2O3 abrasive being adopted in different machining cycles.
The Ra% values of the two materials in the first several cycles of machining were higher.

It could precisely machine hard materials as an alternative to turning for certain limitations.
Katayama et al. [7] studied the formation of built-up edge (BUE) and its effects on machined surface roughness by means of cutting various steel materials and observed that the surface roughness of dual-phase and multi-phase materials are worse than single-phase materials.
Figure 5 illustrates the tool wear of micro-turn-milling of micro-screw experiments. The cause is that while continuous chip flows through the rake face when micro-turn-milling of micro-screw, owing to duralumin alloy belongs to stronger plastic workpiece materials, therefore after the workpiece of duralumin alloy contact constantly with the rake face, the bottom materials of chip interact with each other the rake face of cutting tool materials, which generate cold welding and bond together.
When the outflow of the chip, it will force the inner materials of softer chip of micro-screw underlying to a large shear deformation.
