Scaling-up and three dimensional (3-D) near-net shape forming technique for FGMs are one of the most important key-factor to produce the industrial engineering components and products in practical use.
Since, FGMs have not been advanced to replace suggested and promised applications mainly in terms of high production cost and limitation of applicable flexibility of processing for complex three dimensional (3-D) products.
In addition, easy handling of FGM powder and process optimization are also desired from engineers of industries.

When the shoulder-driven material does not reach the advancing side of FSP zone the defects are formed.
In FSP/FSW material transports from the advancing side to the retreating side, travels around the pin, and back to the advancing side [14].The crown side flow pattern results in an overall circulation of material about the longitudinal axis of weld/ processed region (down on the advancing side, up on the retreating side) [15].Fig. 2 shows the microstructure of the region in the FSP zone as marked in the macrostructure.
