Abstract.
Introduction The application of an electric or magnetic field during the solidification of materials, so called electromagnetic processing of materials (EPM), has been found to have an influence on the microstructure of the resulting solid especially on the grain refinement, since magnetic field was applied to the solidification process of metal by Johnson et al. in 1965[1-4].
