The thermodynamic and kinetic analysis were performed on the basis of dynamic and adiabatic calorimetric applications which had been accepted as good assistants for investigating materials’ thermal decomposition.
Calorimeters are capable assistants for experimenters to have a good master of their wanted materials.

PREFACE
The Proceedings ADVANCED MATERIALS FOR HIGH TECHNICAL APPLICATIONS
include 32 invited papers presented at The First Yugoslav Conference on Advanced Materials ADVANCED MATERIALS
'95: CHALLENGES OF TOMORROW, held in Herceg-Novi,
Yugoslavia, September 18-22, I 995 .
Actually, this is a first collective presentation of the Yugoslav scientists and their achievements in the field of materials science to the world public, after being isolated from the international community for several years as a consequence of the UN sanctions imposed on our country.
The Conference ha, been initiated by the Association of the Engineers and Technicians of Yugoslavia and the Institute of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences ru1d Arts, and organized in co-operation with the leading scientific institutions and faculties on the occasion of 50 years of publication of our national journal TECHNICS (fEHNIKA). 1be goal of the Conference wa5 to present the current state of development and Yugoslav potentials and to consider the problems in the materials science and engineering through the lectures of our eminent worldwide known scientists.
The Proceedings contain the 32 papers arranged in sections, corresponding to their scientific contents: (I) Structure and Characterization, (2) Materials for Electronics ru1d Optoelectronics, (3) Physical Chemistry of Materials, (4) Polymers, (5) Thin Films, (6) Powders, Sintering and Composites, (7) Electrochemistry ru1d Physical Metallurgy .
Milivoje Jelacic as a Conference coordinator, Mrs Mirjruia Kosanovic in her technical editing of the materials before, during, and after the meeting, Mr Predrag Zivanovic, Dragan Tasic, Srecko Stopic, Djordje Janackovic, and Petar Uskokovic are gratefully acknowledged.
