Figure 1 represents the X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD) obtained from ZnO thin filsm, peaks corresponding to (100), (101) and (110) planes are observed at 31.71˚, 36.27˚and 56.29˚ respectively confirms ZnO (JCPDS data card 36-1451) along preferred C axis orientation possessing hexagonal wrutzite structure [10-12].

Abstract A new unsymmetrical photochromic diarylethene, 1-{2-methyl-5-[5-(2,3,5-trihydroxyl-β-D-xylosyl)-3-(1,2,3-triazolyl)]methylene-3-thienyl}-2- [2-methyl-5-(4-methoxylphenyl)methyl-3-thienyl] perfluorocyclopentene (1a), was synthesized, and its photochromic properties were investigated in detail.
The structure of compound 1a was confirmed by 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3): δ ppm = 1.88 (s, 3H, -CH3), 1.94 (s, 3H, -CH3), 1.97 (s, 3H, -CH3), 1.99 (s, 3H, -CH3), 2.02 (s, 3H, -CH3), 3.39 (m, 1H, J = 5.2 Hz), 3.83 (s, 3H, -OCH3), 4.13 (m, 1H), 4.62 (d, 1H, J = 6.8 Hz), 4.77 (s, 1H), 4.93 (m, 3H), 5.16 (t, 1H, J = 8.4 Hz), 5.62 (s, 2H), 6.92 (d, 2H, J = 8.8 Hz), 7.10 (s, 2H), 7.44 (d, 2H, J = 8.8 Hz), 7.50 (s, 1H).
