So SiO2 aerogels can be widely used as window insulation materials [2], high-performance rechargeable batteries [3,4], Cerenkov detectors [5,6], optical sensors for oxygen gas [7], efficient adsorbent and catalyst carrier and so on [8,9].
According to International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) definition, both samples exhibited type IV isotherms with type H2 hysteresis loops, typical of mesoporous materials.
