In connection with the above, the aim of our work is to study ternary compounds of the system that can be used to produce alumina cements.
Lapin [15] obtained the triple compound BaCaAl4O8 from slag formed during the smelting of aluminum-barium alloys.
Using this method, we calculated the electronegativity of compounds (ENsol.) as the geometric mean of the electronegativities of the elements that make up the compound.
Physico-mechanical properties of ternary compounds of the system CaO–BaO–Al2O3 Compound W/C The term of stiffening [hrs. - min.]
The binding properties of the synthesized ternary compounds and compositions of the system were evaluated.

This mechanical activation is aimed at to synthesize an ultra fine grained TiAl/Al2O3 composite.
In most cases hydrocarbon and /or carbohydrate compounds were used as PCA during milling [2-8].
Therefore, PCA compounds usually can introduce contaminations like O, H and C to the milled powder by decomposition during milling.

This phase diagram reveals the presence of six intrinsic intermetallic compounds (IMCs).
Subsequently, we aim to synthesize ternary alloys by substituting either Fe or Al with one of the elements (B, Ga, Sn, Mn, and V).
This method facilitates the synthesis of intermetallic compounds and solid solutions, even in thermodynamically immiscible systems.
Miedema devised a systematic approach for determining the formation enthalpy of metal alloy compounds, drawing inspiration from the Pauling scheme used for calculating the formation enthalpy (∆H) of molecular compounds.

Introduction Abrasive machining tools are ever more using cubic boron nitride (cBN) based composites inserts, especially for cutting a ferrous alloys, which not compatible with diamond tolls [1].
These cBN composites are usually sintered jointly with other compounds.
High percentage of cBN in the mixture was used to enable the sintered body to have high wear resistance under aggressive conditions in cutting of ferrous alloys.
For these compounds the wear was observed 2.5 times smaller than those sintered using a single cycle.

These layers were prepared on substrates made from Ti, Ti alloys (Ti39Nb and Ti6Al4V) and stainless steel AISI316.
Introduction Low-modulus β-TiNb alloys (the TiNb binary system with a BCC structure) with excellent corrosion resistance are currently under consideration as a surgical implant material [1,2].
The advantage of using of a binary alloy is that it is simpler to preserve the composition than in the case of ternary and quaternary alloys, which induce obviously non-homogeneous segregation of elements [4].

Alloys with two different RE amounts were tested, with compositions Nd17Dy2B12Co8Fe61 and Nd15Dy2Co5B12Fe66.
Different alloys compositions behave differently in carbon presence.
Alloys with higher amount of rare-earths, consequently with more RE-rich phase, showed more tolerance to carbon presence, being less affected by carbon than lower RE alloys.

The analysis of the results shows that the resistance of the structure to cavitation erosion is dependent on the type of alloy, the degree of brittle intermetallic compounds and the mechanical properties specific to toughness.
All the alloys show a structure with acicular precipitates and inclusions of intermetallic compounds of aluminum such as CuAl, MgSi, MgZn, etc., compounds on which the resistance to cavitation stresses depends, because they contribute to the decrease of the strength of the structure by weakening the bonds between the basic grains and by creating crack primers.
It can be seen that in alloys 5083 and 6082 the number and sizes of intermetallic compounds are greater than in alloys 2017 A and 7075.
The resistance to cavitational erosion of aluminium alloys in the laminated state, expressed by the values of the reference parameters Mmax and vs, is dependent on the degree of alloying, the type of the principal alloying chemical elements, the values of the mechanical properties, the intensity and the size of the brittle intermetallic compounds. 2.
