Methodology Image Processing 1) Image filter: In order to reduce the noise of the SAR imagery, Enhanced Frost Filter was used to process SAR imagery with the window of 7 by 7 pixels, which can reduce the noise of the imagery and improve the boundary between land and water. 2) Image geometrically correction: A lot of control points are equally selected respectively from LANDSAT TM, SAR and topographic maps.
The shade and water body from TM imagery were fused with the water body from RADARSAT SAR with aim at extracting flood extent from RADARSAT SAR imagery.
